Women on the Water Camp at Carteret Community college is a hands-on, adventure-filled week designed to get girls on the coast and into the world of maritime careers. Campers will learn about boating safety, navigation, and coastal ecosystems while exploring the exciting careers on and around the water.

From stepping aboard working boats to meeting captains, boatbuilders, and marine scientists, each day brings a new experience and a behind-the-scenes look at how the maritime world works. 

Field trips are planned to Jarrett Bay, US Coast Guard Station at Fort Macon, and Cape Lookout National Seashore (weather permitting), among others.

Guided by two ladies with real-world experience on the water, this camp creates a fun, supportive space for girls to try new things, build confidence, and connect with the water.

Camp Hours: 09:00am - 2:00pm

Campers should bring a refillable water bottle and a picnic-style lunch.
